Accents and recording quality
Speakers interrupt each other and have accents, and the recording is noisy. Automated systems stumble on material like this, while a human translator makes out the speech and marks the inaudible parts.

What we translate
Common mistakes
Speakers interrupt each other and have accents, and the recording is noisy. Automated systems stumble on material like this, while a human translator makes out the speech and marks the inaudible parts.
Viewers can only read a few words per second. Subtitles have to be shortened without losing the meaning, or the text won't keep up with the picture.
I'm gonna be honest with you, it's been a really tough year.
Я собираюсь быть честным с вами, это был действительно очень тяжёлый год.
Честно скажу: год был тяжёлый.
Live speech is full of idioms, slang and unfinished sentences. They need to come across the way a native speaker would say them, not word for word.
It's raining cats and dogs.
Идёт дождь из кошек и собак.
Льёт как из ведра.

More
Automated systems turn speech into text quickly but struggle with accents, interruptions and background noise. A human translator recognizes accents and dialects, understands idioms and colloquial speech, and when a speaker rambles, conveys their point clearly without distorting the meaning.
We price audio translation per minute of recording, so you know the cost up front. The rate is $5 per minute, transcription included. A minute of speech contains about 120 words on average, so a 30-minute recording is roughly 3,600 words.
